     This program runs approximately 75–80 minutes of music and offers a compelling musical journey — from the profound introspection of the D Minor Partita and its monumental Chaconne, through the radiant brilliance of the E Major Partita, to the architectural grandeur and triumphant conclusion of Bach’s Third Sonata.

                 PERFORMER BIO:
     Dr. Marcio Candido is a Brazilian violinist who has performed worldwide as a soloist, concertmaster, chamber musician, and educator. Recognized for his expressive artistry and versatility, he has appeared in major concert halls and music festivals around the world. He currently serves as Chair of the Music Department at Weimar University in California. A member of the internationally acclaimed Arcada String Quartet, Dr. Candido received a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards. His debut album, Brazil x Argentina, was praised by Fanfare Magazine as "a superb performance," earning him a nomination as Person of the Year by the Anchorage Press. He is a prizewinner in several international competitions, including The American Prize and the colORCHESTRA Competition, and in 2021 made his solo debut at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
     His discography also includes a recording on the Cicerone label with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring Wieniawski's Polonaise de Concert, Op. 4. As a concerto soloist, Dr. Candido has performed with ensembles including the Western New York Chamber Orchestra, Orquestra Filarmônica do Rio de Janeiro, Orquestra Sinfônica da Bahia, Orquestra de Câmara da UNIRIO, Orquestra Filarmônica Adventista do Brasil, New England Repertory Orchestra, Southern Adventist Symphony Orchestra, and the Anchorage Bowl Chamber Orchestra.
     In addition to his solo career, Dr. Candido is a passionate chamber musician and educator. He has collaborated with distinguished artists, presented masterclasses and lectures, and mentored young musicians throughout his career. His artistic vision seeks to combine technical excellence with expressive communication, inspiring audiences and students alike.

     Dr. Candido earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, where he studied with Paulo Bosisio. He completed his Master of Music degree at the Longy School of Music of Bard College under Eric Rosenblith and received a special scholarship to study with the legendary Roman Totenberg. He later pursued additional studies with Kazuko Matsusaka and Julie Rosenfeld before earning his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University, where he studied with Peter Zazofsky. In 2016, Dr. Candido was elected to the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. From 2014 to 2017, he served as a Teaching Assistant at Boston University. Today, Dr. Candido continues to maintain an active international performing career while leading the Music Department at Weimar University. Through performances, recordings, and teaching, he is committed to sharing music of the highest artistic standard and inspiring audiences around the world.
