Today, the high school has a diverse population of close to 1,700 students in grades 9-12. Amongst this population, over 70 countries are represented, and 60 different languages are spoken. With these changes have come new challenges and needs. According to 2023 Everett Public Schools data, out of a population of 3,000+ students in the Everett School District, 1,497 are homeless. Of these students, 14% are living in hotels and motels.
9% of the students are presently living in places not meant for human habitation.
That said, here’s the point of this letter… What we are asking individuals to support through financial donations is our Bruin Community Parents (BCP). It is a volunteer group of parents, teachers and coaches whose purpose is to support and promote the Cascade High School community. Money raised will go directly to the Bruin Community Parents. It will be used to solely support the academic, artistic and athletic needs of our students. What we hope to do is to raise money for future needs the high school may have which go beyond present budgetary considerations. The use of these funds would be determined by current leadership at Cascade High School. The Bruin Community Parents organization would oversee these donations.
