The Great Reunion Race
The Great Reunion Race: A Totally Serious Guide to Glory
Fort Rock Park (Covered Pavilion) | 9:30 AM Sharp-ish | Monday, July 14
Your Mischievous Hosts: Sofie & Joe Hay and Greg & Helena Mandelman
Welcome, Competitive Cousins and Overprepared Uncles!
You’ve been training your whole life for this moment (you just didn’t know it). Whether you're a tactical genius or just in it for the workout, The Great Reunion Race is about to test your wit, your wheels, and your willingness to follow mysterious clues while not getting distracted by chipmunks or mountain lion sighting signs.
Meet-Up Location:
Fort Rock Park - Covered Pavilion
(If you’re lost already, this does not bode well.)
Arrive by 9:30 AM looking fresh and hydrated. Or at least, looking.
What You’ll Need:
-
Your bike (the squeakier, the better)
-
Bike helmet (because safety is sexy)
-
Water bottle (hydration = domination)
-
Smartphone (for clues, photos, and GPSing your way out of “where-the-heck-are-we” moments)
-
Your brilliant brain (optional, but helpful)
What’s Happening?
This isn’t just any old bike ride. This is a scavenger hunt/race/challenge around beautiful Sunriver. You’ll decode clues, complete quirky challenges, and maybe (definitely) engage in some light family sabotage.
Think:
-
Clue solving!
-
Wild photo ops!
-
Questionable teamwork!
-
The thrill of passing your younger cousin who still calls you “old.”
The Prize?
Eternal family bragging rights
Only one team can win, but everyone will have stories to tell at dinner—and thighs that burn with pride (and lactic acid).
Pro Tips:
-
Sunscreen is your friend.
-
Stop signs mean “stop,” even when you're chasing victory.
-
If Greg hands you a clue that involves animal noises, just go with it.
-
If you're a Watt alliances are allowed, but betrayal is encouraged.
Remember:
This race is about fun, family, and finishing with all your limbs. Go fast, solve smart, and don’t forget to laugh along the way.
See you at the start line, racers. May the fastest family win—and the slowest at least have some great stories.
Let the Great Reunion Race begin!
