In memory of our friend, former WFUV-FM/New York City Program Director, and radio legend RITA HOUSTON, is honored each year with an award and a special honorarium in her name. the NON-COMMvention will once again endeavor to bring to this year’s event a deserving female programmer from a smaller market station in honor of Rita’s contributions to her station, the format, and the many musicians she championed. The inaugural Rita Houston Spirit of NON-COMM Award was presented to Jennifer Daunt of Dauntless Promotions.
To that end, we are inviting you to contribute to the “Rita Houston Memorial Fund”! No contribution is too big or small, and 100% of the money raised will be used to pay for the person’s airfare, hotel accommodation, and registration fees for the 2023 NON-COMMvention taking place in Philadelphia May 2-5. Any additional monies will be held to be used exclusively for future recipients.
