From lounge chairs on wheels to the queen on her throne- the race is a site to see. Tons of spectators watch the mad dash down Duke of Gloucester Street with teams eating, drinking, pushing, and shoving their way back to the finish. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals as well as a Victory cup are presented in an elaborate ceremony. Prizes of most creative chariot, most creative costumes and best over all chariot theme are also awarded.
This year, we hope to have hundreds of spectators for this race down DOG Street! Teams with a maximum of 4 members will push their chariots through a set route, stopping off at to consume a beverage and chocolate dessert before continuing the race. The course has 10 stops scheduled. This event will not only be great fun for the teams involved but also for the community who can line the street and cheer on the teams.

Rules of the Race:
1. Teams will consist of a maximum four members. At least two members of the team must be 21 years old on November 7th, 2026. All members will be required to sign a liability waiver on the day of the event.
2. Chariots will be a maximum of 36” wide. They must be able to carry one person at all times. No motors or propulsion will be allowed. Examples would be heavy stroller, wheelbarrow, shopping cart or custom made chariot.
3. All teams will pick their own theme and are encouraged to decorate their Chariot. Team members are required to dress in costume.
4. Each team will be given a route map. The entire route will be on Duke of Gloucester Street in Merchant's Square. Teams must follow the route as instructed in the direction specified.
5. One member of the team will ride in the chariot at all times; this member can be changed as often as the team wishes.
6. All teams must visit all stops; any one member must stop at each table, drink the beverage, eat the chocolate delight and have their chip validated.
7. Teams must check in for the race at 8am in Merchant's Square. Start time is 8:30am.
8. Each team will pay a $100 entry fee which will be used to support CultureFix.
9. The Race is a rain or shine event, it will only be rescheduled in extreme conditions.
10. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finish. Also, a prize will be awarded for the best themed costumes and chariot.
