TICKETS AT THE DOOR WILL BE $35.00 ....

An evening of Ragtime, Stride Piano, and Boogie-Woogie, featuring the works of Scott Joplin, Fats Waller, and George Gershwin, to name but a few! The music originates from a time when the piano was king and piano players were “two-fisted,” rumbustious, and romping with a “handful of keys!” They would whip up a storm, and the joint was always jumpin’ to this high energy, competitive and very demanding style of playing.
Internationally acclaimed as a master of these styles, Neville Dickie is one of the few remaining pianists in the world capable of authentically bringing this music back to life! Neville not only performs these legendary Jazz Piano classics, but also talks about the players, the compositions, and the composers who provided the foundations for modern Jazz Piano — Welcome back to Harlem! Be ready to hold on to your hats as your feet tap and your spirits soar to the sounds of this joyous and exuberant music!
Born in County Durham, England, Neville Dickie had four years of piano lessons from the age of seven. After the piano teacher exited from his life, he began playing “by ear,” picking up the latest  popular songs from the radio. His first gig was playing in a local Working Men's Club at the age of sixteen – playing for dancing and accompanying the budding Sinatra's and Presley's singing. Very few of the singers knew their keys, so playing “My Way" in F# or Db was a great learning curve.
Moving to London in 1958, Neville spent many years playing in pubs in and around the London area and, after passing a BBC audition in 1968, he was hired to play for a morning show with his trio. Dozens of broadcasts followed and a recording contract ensued. In 1969, he recorded an old ‘Parlour' piece - "The Robin's Return," which entered the UK's Top Twenty best sellers, and in 1975 he recorded an LP  - “Back to Boogie,” selling over 100,000 copies. His discography boasts nine LP’s and over 40 CD’s.
Neville has visited America every year since 1982 and is regarded as one of the world’s finest exponents of Harlem Stride Piano. In 2016, Princess Alexandra invited him to play solo piano for her 80th birthday party in London. This was a great honour, of course, which was attended by many members of the Royal Family. The Pandemic prevented visits to the USA in 2020 & 2021, and gigs were sparse in the UK. Although many venues have closed their doors, Neville is now performing in the UK and the USA again.
