To all who know, love, and support the historic town of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, THANK YOU for an incredible 2023!!!  With your financial support this past year, The Guardians of the Gap were able to deliver an incredible array of events and activities in 2022, including free monthly movie nights, 2 Antique Arts & Crafts Fairs, the inaugural Tri-State Outdoors Fest, the revival of FOLKFEST, the inaugural Farm to Table Dinner on the streets of downtown, “Fire in the Gap” - a 9/11 Tribute Fundraiser, “Streamin’ the Gap” urban Airstream camping rally, “Let Them Eat & Drink Pumpkin,” Gaptober movie fun, our first “Sip & Stroll” event, SantaCon, Holiday Home Tours, and the Cumberland Gap nighttime Christmas parade. 

As as a result of our efforts and your patronage, we have successfully raised tax revenue for the town while also attracting new businesses. Our efforts are being recognized and rewarded as evidenced by our acceptance and current participation in the “Tennessee Downtowns” 2-yr downtown revitalization program.  You are helping us make a difference, and we are so very grateful for your support!!

For those of you new to the Gap…

Cumberland Gap is nestled at the foot of Cumberland Mountains surrounded by the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. The breathtaking beauty and charm of the town will greet you as you arrive.

First known as the “Gateway to the West”, then as the strong hold during the Civil War, Cumberland Gap is now known for everything from its specialty shops to the National Historical Park. Located approximately an hour north of Knoxville, Cumberland Gap is a great place to spend the day, a weekend or an entire vacation as a base camp for exploring the Cumberland Gap region.

Within a three block area of downtown you’ll find quaint shops, a variety of restaurants, a scrumptious bakery, and several Inn, Motel, and Air BnB options in which you couldnestle for the night. In addition to direct access to 80+ miles of Cumberland Gap National Historical Park hiking trails, other attractions accessible from downtown include the Iron Furnace, Gap Cave, an old rail bed converted to a 5+ mile greenway trail, a dog park, a free bike share program, and a 6-stop audio+visual walking trail around the historic downtown. Regionally, within a short drive, there are state parks, museums, waterways, incredible downtown neighbors, and trails too numerous to list here. Come and see for yourself!
