2.) Adopt a Trail
This section is from Edgewood to Monroe Ave and includes locks 32 and 33
❖ Visit adopted section(s) at least once a month between April 1 and November 30.
❖ Spend 4 hours per month performing light maintenance or other adopter activities on your section of trail.
❖ Host a Canal Clean Sweep event.
I’m excited to share that GVH has officially joined the NYS Adopt-a-Trail Program, with our first adopted section along the Erie Canal Path!
Many of us regularly run, walk, and train along the Erie Canal, so it feels only fitting that we give back in this way. And with over 350 miles of canal path, there’s plenty of opportunity for us to expand our involvement in the future.
To participate, volunteers must complete a one time short registration survey to become an official Canal Volunteer. Be sure to select Genesee Valley Harriers as your group.
Our commitment is to clean up litter, tree debris.
Clean up day is the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Meet at the canal on Edgewood (JCC) 5:30pm
