The Foundation is a group of community members and parents that work to better the education for young people specifically at heritage Academy. Our by-laws encourages them to raise funds for the under privileged students to get a specialized education in a small classroom environment. For example, Tilly Greene’s dad was hit and killed on a bicycle accident by a car and left behind 4 kids and a widow. Her mom now is facing brain surgery with a tumor that keeps coming back and the Foundation helps pay for a portion of her tuition. Another example is a single mom with no support from the dad works as a cash register attendant at WalMart and works a second job with two kids. She wants to remove her kids from the public school to get more help and direct instruction, so the Foundation helps pay her kid’s tuition as well. The “End of the Summer Run” could help provide a college scholarship or senior tuition scholarship to a student like Tily that overcomes the odds but wants tobetter themselves.
