Epilepsy Alliance Ohio Seminar Series - "Adapting to Change: Developing Resilience”
Speaker: Sandy Morgenthal, M.Ed., PsyD, PCC-S, CCFC, RN
About the Seminar: We all like consistency and want good things to stay the same. Even some not so good things are held onto because they seem better than the unknown. And yet, change is a certainty, like death and taxes. We cannot avoid it; it must be part of our lives; an unwanted piece that requires adaptation and resilience.
This course will provide attendees with some helpful ways to be more flexible with change. Since it a natural part of life, change can show us the reasons and benefits of it, or it can make us miserable. There may be downsides to be dealt with, but they need not be a deterrent to our health and happiness.
Counselors are often the person people come to for their needs in adapting to change. Good habits in addressing change for individuals, couples, families, work environments, and social groups will be taught. Since we can't escape change, we might as well manage it better.
