The Cryptid CaniQuest: Choose Your Pack. Chase the Legends.
Starting May 1st, lace up your trail shoes and leash up your adventure buddy—it’s time to chase myths, earn glory, and sniff out the unknown in The Cryptid CaniQuest, a virtual canicross challenge inspired by legendary creatures of lore.
Each participant will choose a team that they and their dog identify with:
- The Bigfoot Barkers 👣
- Nessie’s Navigators 🐉
- The Winged Watchdogs 🦋
- Area 51 Fetch Force 👽
Once you’ve picked your pack, you’ll receive a team-themed quest list filled with adventurous “Fetch Quests” to complete between May 1st and June 30th. These challenges are all about exploring the wild, pushing your limits, and spotting the unexplainable. The team that completes the most quests will earn ultimate bragging rights as the top trackers of the unknown.
Participants who chose the giveaway option will receive:
A limited-edition Cryptid CaniQuest challenge coin!
A custom race tote to celebrate your legendary run!
Bonus Reminder: All miles completed during the Cryptid CaniQuest count toward your Lifetime Achieved Miles titles, and one distance per registration can be submitted toward your Race Dog Title—so you can chase cryptids and your next big milestone at the same time.

The Bigfoot Barkers
Wild. Rugged. Legendary.
This team is for the trail hounds who thrive in deep woods, love mud on their paws, and don’t mind getting a little lost on purpose. Inspired by the elusive Bigfoot, the Barkers are built for bold, backcountry adventures and off-the-grid running. If you and your dog prefer crashing through brush over paved paths, this is your pack.
Nessie’s Navigators
Mysterious. Graceful. Driven.
Drawn to the water’s edge? Nessie’s Navigators run with flow and finesse, guided by curiosity and calm determination. Whether it's foggy lakesides or misty trails, this team channels the deep, ancient energy of the Loch Ness Monster. If you and your pup are explorers at heart—quietly unstoppable—this team is calling.
The Winged Watchdogs
Alert. Loyal. A little eerie.
Glowing eyes in the night, wings in the shadows—this team is inspired by the legendary Mothman. Perfect for those who love running at dawn or dusk, venturing into foggy forests, and keeping a sharp eye on their surroundings. If your pup is the protector of the pack and you're always up for a twilight trot, you belong with the Watchdogs.
Area 51 Fetch Force
Clever. Curious. Out-of-this-world.
Welcome to the squad of the strange. The Fetch Force is for dogs and humans who are always chasing the unknown, spotting the unexplainable, and staying one step ahead. Fueled by sci-fi vibes and secret missions, this team is fast, fearless, and maybe just a little weird. If your gear is high-tech and your routes are rogue, enlist here.

The NACC Titling Program was developed to expand the sport of canicross and make it more accessible for all individuals. Running teams get to display their athleticism and their bond in our titling events from whichever trail you choose to run!
Registered competitors are awarded a Challenge Coin and Certificate at a variety of titling milestones. North American Canicross’ program includes the LIFETIME ACHIEVED MILES, RACE DOG DISTANCE, and CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES which have similar structures, but different competition standards for each canicross enthusiast.
