Description

Taking care of your body is the first step to taking care of your mind. This May, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we invite you to join AmeriVet's Virtual Walkathon! It’s a fun and interactive way to focus on both physical and mental well-being. Throughout the month, we’ll be encouraging you to get moving while also sharing tips and resources for promoting positive mental health. Whether you’re walking in your neighborhood, on a treadmill, or exploring scenic routes from home, every step counts towards supporting your mental and physical health. Let's walk together, raise awareness, and focus on the AmeriVet community's well-being.

Working in the veterinary field can be incredibly rewarding—but also demanding. Studies show that mental health challenges are more common in this industry than in many others. At AmeriVet, we understand the pressures that come with the job, and we want to remind you that your well-being matters. While you're focused on taking care of animals, we're here to support you in taking care of yourself.

Choose a Goal That Works for You
This walkathon is designed to be flexible and inclusive—set a goal that feels right for you. Whether that’s a certain number of miles, a daily step count, or simply committing to getting outside and moving more, the choice is yours. Walk at your own pace, check in with how you're feeling, and enjoy the opportunity to focus on your well-being.

Those who register and complete the walkathon will receive an AmeriVet Walkathon t-shirt and medal sent to your practice following the conclusion of Mental Health Month.

Don’t forget to share your walk! Post your photos, stories, or walking thoughts on our Kudoboard. We’d love to see where your feet (and paws) take you!

As you exercise your body, here are some mindfulness and reflection resources to listen to that will help you exercise your mind.
