About the Cause

Walk In My Shoes is more than a race — it is a community movement to raise awareness about children’s mental health and connect families with resources that support emotional wellness, resilience, and healing.

Hosted by Change Me Foundation Inc., the Walk In My Shoes Children’s Mental Health Awareness 5K & Community Resource Fair brings together families, educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders across Broward County to promote understanding and support for youth mental health.

Every step taken during this event represents a commitment to breaking stigma and strengthening families.

Why Children’s Mental Health Matters

Children across our communities are experiencing increasing challenges related to emotional and behavioral health. Many families struggle to find accessible resources, culturally responsive care, and supportive services for their children.

Mental health awareness helps families recognize the signs of distress early and seek the support they need.

Walk In My Shoes was created to bring awareness to these challenges and to ensure that families know they are not alone.

By bringing together community partners, service providers, and local organizations, this event helps connect families to valuable resources and support networks.
