The BSA Troop 743 is going to Sea Base for a High Adventure Trip in the Florida Keys, June 2025! Please join us at West Park Station on Saturday, September 14th from 6-9pm for our fundraising event! Tickets are $25/each. This is event is 21+ Only. Tickets include all you can eat pizza, wings, pasta, well drinks and domestic beer. We will have raffle baskets, sideboards, and a 50/50 raffle! All proceeds will be used to help cover flights, the high adventure trip, meals, and rental vehicles.

About our Troop
Troop 743 is a girls troop in Scouts BSA that is raising funds to prepare for their next big adventure, SeaBase. We are active and adventurous, with an outdoor campout each month, as well as a "high adventure" each year. The high adventures are challenging week long adventures. Since our founding in 2019, our high adventures have included Boundary Waters Minnesota, Summit Bechtel white water rafting in New River Gorge, West Point Military Academy, and a canoe trip in Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada. The girls in our troop are mostly from the Cleveland western suburbs.
What is Sea Base?
The Out Island Adventure is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live on a rugged barrier island. You begin your adventure by paddling roughly 6 miles out to Big Munsonin a a Polynesian war canoe, an island only inhabited by Scouts. During your stay you have opportunities to fish for your dinner, fish for sharks, snorkel, kayak through a mangrove lagoon and around the island, explore the island, and work on your survival skills. Big Munson Island in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary: The adventure includes 4 nights, 5 days camping on Big Munson Island. Big Munson Island is a barrier island comprised of hardwood hammocks, low mangrove swamps, gumbo limbo trees, mangroves, lush vegetation and sandy beaches. Endangered Key Deer will pass through the campsite along with hermit crabs and vaca coons.
Each day will be action packed. From Big Munson Island your crew will ocean kayak, board a large vessel to access the Florida Barrier Reef to snorkel, board a Sea Base vessel for a fishing excursion, shark fish, paddle to Munson Rocks for a night snorkel, and explore the largest wilderness on Earth. The ocean. Crews seeking a unique primitive camping experience and a one of a kind adventure should look no further than The Out Island Adventure. Your crew will wade to shore from our vessels and, depending on the tide, the water may be knee high to chest deep. Campsites will already be set up, including tents. All cooking equipment needed for your stay is provided.
