Dream Celebration

Join us for our Dream Celebration presented by the African American Leadership Society (AALS) of United Way of Anderson County. This event is a celebration of Juneteenth and our theme this year is Cultural Tapestry: Weaving Philanthropy and Harmony.

Location: Hilton Garden Inn
Time: June 20, 2025 at 6pm
Attire: African attire is preferred but not required
Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. Cash bar provided.

Our Keynote Speaker is L. Oveta Glover. She holds a significant place in history as one of the eleven trailblazers who integrated the public schools of Charleston in 1963, a groundbreaking achievement for the state of South Carolina, earning her comparison to Louisiana’s Ruby Bridges.

A percentage of the net profits from the event will go back to support the United Way of Anderson County summer reading program, Camp iRock.

Once again, we will recognize leadership in the African American community by presenting the following awards:

  • The Emerging Leader Community Award will be presented to an individual under the age of 35, who exhibits exemplary professional accomplishments and commitment to service the community.
