This Wilderness First Aid course is designed for outdoor athletes, leaders, and coaches who operate in remote environments, with a specific focus on the needs of mountain bike coaches and trail users. Built around real-world application, this course blends evidence-based wilderness medicine with practical decision-making skills for backcountry scenarios.

Our hybrid format combines self-paced online learning with an immersive, hands-on field session. This approach allows participants to build foundational knowledge at their own pace and then apply those skills in realistic outdoor scenarios.

The in-person field session takes place on the trail systems surrounding Pocatello, Idaho, and incorporates movement-based scenarios, utilizing mountain bikes to reflect the environments and situations participants are most likely to encounter.

This course meets the requirements for Level 2 and Level 3 National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) coaches. NICA coaches use the Coupon Code: NICACOACH  at checkout to get $100 off the cost of the course.
