Event Description
The Southern Heritage Air Foundation is excited to announce its collaboration for another year, with NASA ASTRO CAMP® as a Community Partner.
This year the Camp will offer Two Days to choose from. Wednesday, June 3rd or Thursday, June 4th, at the Southern Heritage Air Foundation located at the Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport. Each day is limited to 30 registrants.
The goal of NASA ASTRO CAMP® is to give Camp Participants the chance to be involved and experience Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to inspire future astronauts and engineers to learn about space with NASA activities.
Camp Arrival & Check-in is 8:00 am - 8:15 am with Camp Conclusion and Certificate of Completion presented at noon. A Camp t-shirt, as well as all supplies needed for activities and experiments, and a snack and bottled water, are included with registration.
Activities include:
- Learn Your Astronaut Name
- Ice breaker & color Assigned Group' Mission Patch (Art & Visual Communication)
- Build & Test Your Own Stomp Rocket (Biological & Physical Science Activity)
- Build & Test a Candy Nuclear Reactor (Engineering & Physics)
- Dinosaur Egg Dig (Paleontology & Geology)
- One More Experiment to be determined
- NASA ASTRO CAMP® Certificate of Achievement Awarded
