FREE Tango at RiverFest Park

Monday, June 12 and June 26, from 6:30-9:30. Come dance on the boardwalk at River Fest Park.   This is located directly across the Buffalo River from Buffalo RiverWorks and near Resurgence Brewing Co on Chicago Street.  Look for the Pergola (pictured above) just to the right of Tewksbury Lodge.  Expect temperatures to be a few degrees cooler by the Buffalo River so dress accordingly.  This is a FREE event.

Where: RiverFest Park, 249 Ohio Street, Buffalo 14204. NOTE:  The Michigan Street bridge is scheduled to be closed for 4 months starting May 30. If you are traveling from the South, cross the Buffalo River at the Ohio Street bridge. If you are traveling from the North you do not cross the River to get to RiverFest Park.

Friday at 6:30PM. June 2. "Couples Beginner Lesson #1". Grab your partner (significant other, co-worker, sibling, friend, etc.) and come learn tango! We cover tango basics for the pure beginner or someone who wants a refresher course. A partner is necessary for this class and we will not be rotating dance partners so that you can work together throughout the lesson. Pre-booking is required, click on the tab above to reserve your spot. $25 per couple for this 90 minute session. Limited to 4 couples to give you space to move. The AC is on!

 

Sunday at 5PM. June 4.  Tango 101. Beginner tango lesson.  This is the 4th of a 4 week beginner series. $10 per class. Perfect for the complete beginner who is interested in understanding tango basics. The 4 weeks will cover tango concepts including: the basic tango walk, "the cross", ochos and giros (turns). Stay for the practice at 6PM if you would like. It's free with the lesson. No partner required. Pre-register or drop-in for just $10.

 

Sunday from 6-9PM. June 4. Tango practice. $7. No partner required. Pre-register or drop-in for just $7.

 

Tuesday at 6:30PM. June 6. "Experienced Beginner" tango lesson, no partner required. 90 minutes of tango learning beyond the basics and fundamentals. No partner required. Some prior experience suggested. This week we explore "Working in Cross-System".  Pre-register or  drop-in for only $10.

 

Monday from 6:30-9:30PM. June 12. FREE Tango at RiverFest Park.  See details above.

Additional details:  All experience levels welcome. No partner required.  

Dance shoes or other leather sole shoes suggested. Casual dress.  

 

We are located at 2296 Main Street, approx 1/4 mile north of Rt 198 (Humbolt Pkwy). On-street parking on Main or West Oakwood. Parking is also available in the school parking lot at Main and Leroy.
