Greetings Carwashers of the Commonwealth and Beyond:

The car wash industry in Pennsylvania is on the upswing, and the dry October we had brought an additional surge in demand! With record-low rainfall across the Commonwealth, customers have been out in droves, resulting in an increase in washes and keeping businesses bustling. While we all know that weather patterns can shift rapidly, this extended period of clear skies has been a welcome gift to car wash owners and operators alike.

We’re thrilled to share that our recent CAP Dinner and CAP Golf Outing were both fantastic successes, thanks to the support and enthusiasm of our members and partners!

The CAP Dinner was a wonderful evening of connection and inspiration. Members gathered to discuss industry trends, share insights, and celebrate the achievements of Pennsylvania’s car wash community. Our keynote speaker, CEO of ICA Eric Wulf, enlightened us with all the current data of the industry and how much excitement there is!

Our CAP Golf Outing was another high point, combining friendly competition with meaningful networking. The event brought together members of all skill levels for a day on the green, with beautiful weather and great company. Proceeds from the outing will go toward future initiatives that support the car wash industry in Pennsylvania, helping us to make an even greater impact.

The dry fall weather has brought an extended boost to car wash demand across Pennsylvania. With warm, clear days persisting, car wash operators have been able to meet increased demand and serve more customers than usual. This season reminds us of how vital it is to be prepared for every shift in demand—and highlights the opportunity for growth in Pennsylvania’s car wash industry.

As we look ahead, the involvement of our members is more important than ever. By attending CAP events and sharing your insights, you help us drive our industry forward, and make a lasting impact on car washing in Pennsylvania.

The Carwash Association of Pennsylvania's annual baseball outing occurred at the PPG Natural Gas Field to watch the Altoona Curve take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels. 9/18: Annual Dinner & Tabletop Show

The Carwash Association of Pennsylvania was proud to host another premier networking event on Wednesday, September 18th at the Antique Auto Museum of Hershey. Nearly 100 attendees enjoyed an evening of networking and listening to Eric Wulf, CEO of the International Carwash Association speak on the state of today's carwash industry providing data about current and future trends; and congratulating Ed Hollinger on his amazing achievements over the past 40 years!

2024 PA Carwasher of the Year Award

Congratulations on Mr. Ed Hollinger of Sundance Carwash and Laundry on being recognized as the 2024 Pennsylvania Carwasher of the Year! Ed's family entered the carwash business in 1972 when his father and a partner bought their first carwash. Ed began working at the sites in high school and later joined full-time, helping to expand and upgrade locations. In the early 1990's, the Hollinger family purchased more sites, including laundromats, and made significant improvements through the early 2000's. In 2003, Ed's son Brian joined the business, becoming a partner and general manger in 2018, with plans to assume full ownership. Together, they modernized locations and redesigned their flagship site.
