Willkommen and Merry Christmas!
Thank you for choosing to spend a day or evening gathering and experiencing CHRISTkindlmarkt CHS as part of your Christmas season! Our desire is that it brings you joy while you shop, sip, eat, and possibly slow a bit to ponder the meaning of CHRISTmas. Here are some tips you may find helpful and most of all HAVE FUN…….
· ALL parking and ticket check in is at 4461 N Hwy 17 in Awendaw.
· If you are non-ambulatory and use an adaptive device including a wheelchair, walker, or scooter there is room to ride the ADA transportation. Guest with strollers and ambulatory persons please ride the school buses provided so that our non-ambulatory guests can arrive in a timely manner.
· Please have your ticket ready on your phone at check in. Also, your ID if over 21 and plan to purchase and drink alcohol.
· Everyone in your party does NOT have to arrive together to check in.
· Your wristband allows you to board the bus. ALWAYS board BACK to FRONT for time efficiency.
· Transport departs at ticket time and runs continuously for the duration of your markt. However, the final bus returns to the parking 15 min after your ticket closing time is marked.
· Glühwein, a hot mulled wine is the drink of the German Christmas Markets. At CKMC it is served in a ceramic wine cup fired in Germany. The wine cup is for keeps and must first be purchased for 16.00. The Glühwein is a separate wine purchase and can re-“fill” throughout the markt experience.
· German bier on tap is available, as well as a traditional style bottled “Swing Top Bier” (limited quantities of the swing top).
· The featured Main food vendors for starters are Jakob's BRAT's, and returning food vendor Lowfeld Soul Food (cured South African meats and English meat pies). Also, you may find on your market visit Fat Daddy's BBQ, Alekos Greek Gyros, or And Lobster.
· You will find your fav chocolate chip cookie and stollen for gifting at the Zucker Hütte, along with Donut Daddy, Divine Favor, and/or Sinfil Decadence Cupcakes for your sweet tooth. If on the hunt for savory or salty returning is Twisted Jack’s Pretzels joined for the first time by Nut Time Snacks. As always Mugs and Mutts will be serving up hot chocolate and coffee.
· Kinder Vendors (age 18 or under) are selling hair jewelry, savory and sweet bites, handmade soap, whittled wood figures, and such.
· Small business vendors, artisans, crafters, and makers along with the marquee' stall of handmade German Handwerks are available to shop at The Glashaus, Vendor Strasse, Vendor Row, Vendor Haus and GHW!
· On the terrace stroll the window displays and snap a pic “in Germany” at the winter street scene.
· If GIVING is a part of your CHRISTMAS, find our featured charities where there are opportunities for you to learn about and GIVE to local non-profit organizations assisting people with various needs for furniture resources, spiritual needs, re-emerging from prison or in need of shelter.
· Find the sign for the "GERMAN MEET UP" for all Germans and/or anyone who has lived in Germany. The MEET UP is at 3:30 daily and 8:30 nightly to the right of the German Street scene on the grass in front of the window with the pyramid and CHRISTkindlmarkt window display.
· Lastly, we welcome all to stay for DAY Markt closing carols and STORYTIME at 4:15 daily or NIGHT Markt VESPERS at 9:15 nightly. Both are at the fire circle at the entry.
