Background

Funding cuts, drops in private donations, changes in corporate giving and volunteerism and a looming recession – are all happening while the need has never been greater. The need to help individuals, families and communities that lack adequate housing, education, healthcare, proper nutrition and safety. The need to protect and nourish our diverse ecosystems and environment that allow us to have clean water, air and land.

Based on University of San Diego's The Nonprofit Institute March 2025 research findings focused on the impacts of Executive Orders on Nonprofits in the San Diego region, over 400 nonprofit respondents shared they need help with:

1. Advocacy for more stable and supportive policies for nonprofits

2. Amplification of nonprofit voices using public platforms and influence

3. Support for forming partnerships and coalitions to improve service delivery

4. Technical assistance and organizational capacity building

Due to these needs, Cause San Diego is bringing together businesses and nonprofits to develop contingency plans, parterships and explore alternative solutions. Let's bring the amazing talents of our business sector

Event Overview

Cause San Diego is offering this community engagement workshop for San Diego nonprofit professionals to share challenges, ideas and solutions; to assess their current situation alongside peers; and to get pro bono advice from local experts in financial, operational, HR, legal, PR, marketing communications and strategic planning.

Nonprofits will be paired with 3 or more business experts who are ready to learn about your organization and discuss ideas for pivoting or sustaining operations and funding.
