Historic Boston-Edison Association · 100th Anniversary · 1926–2026
2026 marks the Historic Boston-Edison Association's 100th anniversary and the 17th Season of Concerts in Boston-Edison will honor a century of community with six performances featuring five world-class, award-winning ensembles, including Grammy nominees. From an intimate spring jazz evening to a double-set summer spectacular, this season is curated to move you, and to make you feel exactly where you BE-long. Each unique event will include a special curated menu of fine food and drinks to complement your concert experience!
Concerts in Boston-Edison reserves the right to make program changes if necessary.
May 16 - Indoor Concert
ONA
This high-energy trio of accomplished women (their band name means “Goddess”) consists of 2014 Kresge Artist Fellow and Grammy-nominated drummer and Detroit icon Gayelynn McKinney, award-winning pianist Sequoia “Redwood” Snyder and bassist Laura- Simone Martin. These ladies have recently graced such stages as the Detroit Jazz Festival and the Blue Llama Jazz Club honoring the jazz tradition and infusing their own fearless musical voices.
June 13 - Outdoor Concert
Pathe Jassi
Pathe Jassi is a bassist and singer hailing from Senegal, Africa, but adopting Detroit as his second home for over 20 years. He is an in-demand performer locally, nationally and internationally. His music combines traditional West African rhythms with jazz for a truly unique world music sound. Pathe spent half of his career playing and recording alongside legendary West African singers Youssou N’Dour of Senegal and Cheikh Lo of Burkina Faso. He returns to Concerts in Boston-Edison with his ensemble, having been one of the first artists showcased on the series when it began.
July 11 - Outdoor Concert
Brandon Williams
Brandon Williams is a Detroit-based, high-profile, and in-demand international producer and performer. His work has garnered a Grammy nomination and multiple Billboard #1 placements. His list of collaborations is a who’s-who of the R&B, Soul and Gospel genres: Robert Glasper, Vickie Winans, Martha Reeves, the late Amp Fiddler, Lin Rountree, Jadakiss, Talib Kweli, Eric Roberson, Raheem DaVaughn and many, many others, as well as commercial work for AT&T, and Honda. He has released four albums of his own, which garner millions of listens among multiple streaming platforms. You’ll get two opportunities
to hear Brandon and his band; shows at 1pm and 6 pm.
August 15 - Outdoor Concert
Ian Fink
Ian Fink is a performer with an incredible musical imagination. A 2024 recipient of the prestigious Kresge Artist Fellowship, he is a pianist, producer, DJ, and composer who is a key force in the next generation of Detroit jazz innovators. Known for his virtuosity, versatility, and dynamic performances, he has consistently experimented while building a wide-ranging audience within Detroit’s music community and far beyond. In addition to touring internationally with Kassa Overall and Shigeto, Ian has shared the stage with artists such as Benny Golson, Esperanza Spalding, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Karriem Riggins. His keys can be heard on tracks by Earl Sweatshirt (“Fire In The Hole”), Robert Hurst and Black Milk, among many others. He operates a record label called Freak Press, founded in 2017.
September 12 - Indoor Concert
Pamela Wise Harrison is an award-winning pianist, composer, and ensemble leader with a long history in the Detroit jazz world and beyond. She is known for her skill at weaving Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms and motifs into her compositions and improvisations. She has performed and composed for such high-profile colleagues as Regina Carter, Akua Dixon, James Carter, Dwight Adams, and her husband, Wendell Harrison, to name but a few. She has been awarded grants from the former Arts Foundation of Michigan, New Music USA (New York), and the Kresge Foundation, including being awarded a prestigious Kresge Arts Fellowship in 2016. She has released five albums and has been a special guest on numerous other recorded projects. The Pamela Wise Trio was the very first ensemble to perform at Concerts in Boston-Edison, 16 years ago.
