Event Description
All levels of birdwatching experience are welcome as we explore Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, a superb destination for observing wildlife and birds. The 2.5 mile trail system in Concord on Monsen Road provides the best wildlife viewing on the refuge.
A great diversity of birds have been recorded at the refuge, including nesting waterfowl: mallards, black ducks, wood ducks, and blue-winged teal. This site has a wildlife observation tower, a wildlife observation platform, and direct access to the Concord River. The two small lakes on site are ideal feeding grounds for many species of shore birds and waterfowl that migrate in late summer.
Arrive: 8:00 am to Great Meadows Concord Entrance at Monsen Road (not Sudbury entrance).
Parking: There is parking onsite.
What to bring: binoculars, camera, light jacket (if necessary), water bottle.
NOTE about registration: Please register as soon as possible as the event is limited to 11 participants. Added to the price will be an Eventbrite processing fee.
