Event Description

Join us Wednesday, Nov. 20th from 6:00-7:30 PM, for Sharing Stories to Save Lives: Cancer & Better Health in Philadelphia, a complimentary event where we will discuss removing barriers to care, achieving equity, and running for better health. The evening will begin with a screening of the short BBC StoryWorks film featuring Philadelphia runner, educator, and cancer survivor James Waddington (pictured above). Learn how James' experience inspired him to become an outspoken advocate for cancer screening, particularly in under-represented communities.

The film will be followed by a panel conversation with James and others, discussing removing barriers to care for under-represented people, knowing the American Cancer Society's cancer screening recommendations, and how running for better health can help you get and stay well, even in the face of a cancer diagnosis.

Attendance is free, but RSVPs are required. Guests will receive a free, limited edition American Cancer Society DetermiNation X BOCO Gear Camp Hat, only available to attendees, one-night-only. Donations are welcome and gratefully received.
