Information
Mi gente, con el corazón roto we have to announce that El Grito Chicago 2-day Festival in Downtown Chicago will be postponed.
It was a painful decision, but holding El Grito Chicago at this time puts the safety of our community at stake - and that's a risk we are unwilling to take.
While we’re torn by this decision, when we brought this celebration back, our aim was to create a safe, affordable, family-friendly, community festival for all. We look forward to accomplishing that in the future together – bringing El Grito Chicago back stronger, prouder, and more united than ever before.
To all of our vendors, artisans, artists and community groups who planned to join us – you are the flavor that makes El Grito Chicago so special.
To all of our sponsors and contractors who helped us build this festival – you are the foundation that makes El Grito Chicago possible.
To our community - you are the beating heart of this celebration. Your passion, resilience, and pride are what make El Grito Chicago more than a festival; it is a living tradition.
Our priority now is for all tickets to be refunded. Full refunds will begin immediately to everyone who purchased tickets through our website or TicketSignup. Refunds will go back to the original form of payment. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for processing.
We’re saddened about the loss of an opportunity to uplift a vision of dignity, strength, and belonging at a time when it’s sorely needed. Although we cannot gather in Grant Park this month, we encourage you to still celebrate Mexican Independence Day in a safe, respectful and responsible way and support Mexican- American businesses around the city.
