“Peace on Earth”

Join Main Street Elizabethton for the 2026 Elizabethton Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 12, at 6:00 p.m. in Downtown Elizabethton!

This year’s theme, “Peace on Earth,” celebrates the heart of the Christmas season, showcascing peace, kindness, hope, goodwill, and community. We invite you to get creative and bring the theme to life through your float!

From messages of kindness and unity to celebrations of family, friendship, service, and the traditions that bring people together, the “Peace on Earth” theme provides an opportunity to interpret the theme a unique and creative way. The goal is to fill downtown with a beautiful celebration of what brings us together during the Christmas season.

Our 2026 Grand Marshal is the Elizabethton Rotary Club, celebrating its 100th anniversary and a century of service to the Elizabethton community. We are proud to honor their longstanding commitment to bringing people together and serving others.

Parade Entry Details

• Participants may include up to 3 additional vehicles with their registered float, for a maximum of 4 vehicles total per parade entry.
• Registration deadline is December 5, 2026, or when the parade reached max capacity at 100 participants.

Decorating of Parade Units

• I will not submit or include any item that has the potential to cause harm to parade participants or attendees.
• I agree that my parade entry will meet a parade quality standard and reflect the fundamental values of being ethical, family-friendly, and accountable in representing my organization.
• I understand that Santa is provided by the parade committee and may not appear on or with my parade unit.
• I will arrive at the staging area with my unit fully decorated and assembled. I will not assemble my unit at the staging site.
• I understand that staging will occur on Elk and Lynne Avenues.

General Rules and Regulations

• I agree to maintain a patient and steady pace throughout the parade.
• I agree to maintain my assigned position in the parade lineup for the duration of the parade.
• I will not throw, toss, or eject candy, toys, or any other items from my parade unit.
  If distributing candy, I understand that it must be handed directly to spectators by walking participants along the side of the barricades only.
• I understand that live animals are not permitted in the parade.
• I understand that all propaganda items and campaigning literature are prohibited.
• I agree to comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations of any lawful authority, agency, or governmental unit that apply to the City of Elizabethton.
• I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Elizabethton, its officers, directors, coordinators, representatives, employees, and agents from any liabilities, losses, costs, expenses, penalties, fines, or damages resulting from my failure, or my participating organization's failure, to comply with applicable laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.

By registering for the parade, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to follow all rules and regulations listed above. I understand that failure to abide by these rules may result in my removal, or the removal of my organization, from parade participation
