From Netflix's Barbecue Showdown to the Hunter's Moon

We are excited to welcome celebrity pitmaster Joey Victorian of Victorian's Barbecue to Calvert for the Feast of the Hunter's Moon.

Joey brings more than three decades of barbecue experience to the pit, blending traditional Texas barbecue with the Cajun and Creole flavors rooted in his family story. His menu is known for expertly smoked briket, ribs and turkey, along with signature tri-tip and bold Creole-inspired dishes and sides.

National audiences came to know Joey when he competed on Season 2 of Netflix's Barbecue Showdown, where his personality, creativity, and skill over live fire put his Texas barbecue on an international stage.

Today, Joey and his wife, Kelli, welcome barbecue lovers to Victorian's Barbecue in Mart, Texas, just outside Waco. What began as a Houston-area barbecue trailer eventually became the Victorian family's brick-and-mortar-restaurant-and a destination for barbecue fans from across Texas and beyond.

In 2026, Victorian's Barbecue was ranked #10 among the Top 50 Texas Barbecue Joints by TexasBarbecue.com, further establishing Joey as one of the pitmasters helping shape the next chapter of Texas barbecue.

And Joy's food carries something especially fitting for the Feast of the Hunter's Moon: for him, barbecue has always been about more than what comes off the pit. It is about feeding people, bringing them together, and building community around the table.

On October 9, Joey Victorian brings that philosophy and his barbecue to one very long table in historic downtown Calvert.

FRI. OCT 9, 6PM—The Festivities kick-off with the ROYAL FEAST OF THE HUNTER’S MOON—Be prepared to join one of the longest Texas-size tables to gather & celebrate community. CELEBRITY CHEF and PIT MASTER, Joey Victorian of Victorian’s BBQ will be joining us for this event. Victorian was featured on Season 2 of the Netflix series *Barbecue Showdown*, known for his Creole-influenced, tender Barbecue and the “Texas Tri-Cut King.” Victorian was named to the 2026 Texas Monthly Top 10 BEST BBQ JOINTS.
