High Bridge Trail State Park invites you to experience nature’s light show like never before!

Join us atop the historic High Bridge for a breathtaking view as thousands of fireflies illuminate the treetops below. An experienced park ranger will share an engaging and insightful talk about these fascinating creatures — uncovering what makes their glow so mesmerizing and their behavior so unique.

Don’t miss this chance to witness the magic of fireflies from one of Virginia’s most stunning viewpoints. We hope to see you on the trail!

Tickets are required for entry and are only sold in advance with no refunds, so none will be available at the gate.

7:00-10:30 p.m. - Festivities: Food trucks and souvenirs to purchase. Bug tent to explore. High Bridge opens.
9:00-9:15 p.m. - Welcome: Introduction to High Bridge Trail State Park at the Appomattox Overlook on High Bridge.
9:15-9:45 p.m. - Firefly Talk: Meet on High Bridge at the Appomattox River Overlook to be introduced to the natural world of fireflies under High Bridge.
9:45-11:00 p.m. - Self-guided Exploration: Witness nature's fireflies on your own. Stroll across High Bridge to fully experience nature's summer night miracle.
