At Journey to ExSCellence, we are proud to champion the voices of Sickle Cell Warriors and the caregivers who stand beside them. In recognition of National Family Caregiver Month, we are honored to host our Annual Gala of ExSCellence—an evening celebrating resilience, community, and progress in the fight against Sickle Cell Disease. More than a celebration, this is also a fundraiser that directly supports JTE’s signature programs and initiatives, including the Battle Buddy Bag (providing comfort and essentials to Warriors during hospital stays), Sweet Surprise (bringing adults and caregivers unexpected provisions to the UMD Sickle Cell Clinic), and the Emerging Adults Campaign (empowering young adults as they navigate life and healthcare transitions). Together, we will honor caregivers, uplift Warriors, and invest in programs that bring awareness, education, advocacy, and resources to Prince George’s County and beyond.
