The Flight Lab is a hands-on learning space where aspiring aviators of all ages explore the science and excitement of flight. From immersive simulator sessions to FAA ground school prep, you’ll find your perfect path to the skies — whether you’re discovering aviation for the first time or preparing for your written exam.
All classes are held in person and include access to Google Classroom for supplemental online materials.
Courses & Experiences
Aspiring Aviator Course (4-Week Course)
Designed for those eager to explore the skies, this shorter course combines hands-on learning with interactive lessons that bring the fundamentals of aviation to life.
Dates: January 17, 31; February 14, 28, 2026

Private Pilot Foundations (8-Week)
This 8-Week Private Pilot course is designed for aviators who are ready to begin their flight training journey. Instruction blends FAA-aligned content with real-world aviation experiences, mentorship from active flight instructors, and hands-on approach to learning.
Dates: Feb 3, 10, 17, 24; March 3, 10, 17, 24
Time: 5:30pm - 7pm
Discovery Flight Experience (30 Min Ground Lesson + 45 Min Simulator Flight)
Experience the thrill of flight with our discovery flight experience. You will begin with 30 minutes of ground training and then take a thrilling 45 minute flight lesson on our FAA Approved simulator that includes landing at an airport of your choice.
Private Pilot Test Prep (8-Week Course)
An 8-week FAA Private Pilot Ground School that prepares you for your written exam and includes instructor endorsement upon completion. Includes: Google Classroom + in-person sessions, book, quizzes, final practice exam, and endorsement eligibility

Instrument Rating Test Prep (8-Week Course)
An 8-week FAA Private Pilot Ground School that prepares you for your written exam and includes instructor endorsement upon completion. Includes: Google Classroom + in-person sessions, book, quizzes, final practice exam, and endorsement eligibility.
Dates: Nov 13, 20; Dec 4, 11; Jan 8, 15; Feb 12, 26

Building STEAM Futures in Aviation
Designed specifically for school districts, this is a three-session course that aligns with PDE Career Education & Work Standards and STEAM Initiative Framework. This add-on will enrich existing curriculum for students interested in aviation, aerospace, and related technologies by introducing concepts related to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) that power modern flight — while highlighting real-world Aviation Career Pathways.
This course can be delivered within the Flight Lab at the Indiana Mall or within your School District and is delivered by a Certified Flight Instructor with current clearances. Each student will receive 2-hours of FAA ground training that can be credited towards their aviation career pathway.
Program Fee: $99 for 5-20 Students. Please contact for pricing for groups smaller than 5 students.
