Q: Who will be running the camp program?

A: Experienced staff from College Settlement will lead the program activities at a 10:1 camper to staff ratio. All staff have received background clearances, interviews, and reference checks. The leader for our program has been doing this work at College Settlement since 2018. In addition, several adults from the Jack Duffy Empowerment Foundation Board will attend to provide support and supervise. All Board Members have also received background clearances.

Q: How many kids are expected to participate?

A: There are 20 participants signed up.

Q: How will my child get to camp and back home?

A: Parents/guardians are responsible for transportation to and from camp. Please plan to arrive between 8:30 – 8:50 am, so that we can begin our program promptly at 9:00. To get to College Settlement, use the address: 593 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA 19044. There is a large green tractor at the entrance. Follow the paved camp road, and you will see a gravel parking lot to the right, across from the camp play courts. This is our drop-off area. Please pick up your child promptly at 3:00 pm in the same location.

Q: What should my child bring?

A: We are providing lunch, a snack, and water. If your child has any dietary restrictions, please let us know through the online sign-up form so that we can try to accommodate (or let you know to bring your own food.) Any program activity supplies will also be provided as well as a drawstring backpack to use and keep as a souvenir of the day. We do not recommend bringing phones, electronics, or other valuables. Your child should be dressed comfortably for a fun, active day outdoors based on the weather.

Q: What happens in bad weather?

A: In general, the program will be held rain or shine. In the case of any severe weather conditions that would make it unsafe, you will be notified that it will be cancelled or postponed. If no suitable date is available to reschedule, your deposit will be refunded.
