SPECIAL EVENTS FOR ALL AGES
Free Admission to all Events
June 10 - 11, 2022 at the Library
274 Main Street, Hackensack
Meet artist Joe LaMattina on Friday evening June 10 from 5:30 to 7:00. No registration is necessary and all are welcome. Light refreshments will be available.
His featured exhibit, Squiggles, Globules, and other Urban Marks will be on view from early May through June. In this series the artist explores more spontaneous mark-making with an emphasis on (but not limited to) abstraction. Movement, texture, and vibrancy are all paramount in these selections.
From December, 1975 through June, 2010, Joe LaMattina was employed as an art instructor with the Hackensack Public School System. Since retirement, he has decided to continue his journey with a shift, which allows him more time to focus on integrating his studio time, gallery shows and private teaching.Visit His Website
The art will be displayed in the Library quiet study room by local artists who have agreed to participate in a silent auction from 3 - 4 pm on Saturday afternoon. Bidding sheets will explain the process, and proceeds will be shared with the Friends of the Library.

Each participant may choose a rock from the ones in front of the library on Main Street. We will have paint and brushes out, maybe even glitter, so participants can decorate their rocks. They will then get sprayed with a sealant to protect them from the weather before they get put back into the rock garden for all to enjoy.
Artwork created by students from Hackensack’s elementary and middle schools will be on display in the Children’s room Friday and Saturday
Stop by the Teen section Friday and Saturday to view beautiful pieces created by local teenagers during a recent Teen Tuesday event
