Event Description
This camp is specifically designed for young players (ages 8-13 years) new to the game or looking to enhance their skills. Throughout the camp, participants will focus on developing the mechanical foundations of all key aspects of the game: hitting, throwing, fielding, and base running.
Key Skills Covered:
- Hitting Mechanics: To improve their batting, players will learn the proper stance, grip, and swing techniques. The camp will emphasize hand-eye coordination, timing, and balance to help players make consistent contact with the ball and hit for power and accuracy.
- Throwing Fundamentals: Campers will work on developing strong, accurate throws through drills that teach proper grip, arm motion, and follow-through. Techniques for short and long throws will be covered, focusing on building arm strength and control.
- Fielding Techniques: Infielders and outfielders alike will practice their footwork, glove positioning, and reaction times to become proficient at catching and throwing the ball in all game situations. Players will also work on improving their ability to confidently field ground balls, fly balls, and line drives.
- Base Running: Campers will learn the basics of running the bases, including proper starting stances, taking leads, and reading the pitcher's movements. The importance of speed and smart decisions on the bases will be emphasized to help players become aggressive, yet strategic runners.
Throughout the camp, we’ll incorporate fun, age-appropriate drills and games that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. Whether your child is just starting or looking to refine their skills, this camp will provide a solid foundation for their continued growth in the game of baseball.
By the end of the camp, players will not only have a better understanding of the game's fundamentals but also a newfound love for it, setting them up for success in future practices and games.
