Jim grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia and went to Woodbridge High School. He attended Millsaps College where he played 3rd base and pitcher. While playing at Millsaps, Page was named MVP in his sophomore and senior seasons and hit .487 his senior season, which set the school record for batting average.
In 1989, he was hired as the Millsaps Head Baseball Coach, where he still coaches today. Over his 34 year career, Coach Page has a record of 815-554-3, making him the winningest coach in Millsaps baseball history. He has led Millsaps to 9 Conference Championships, 8 NCAA Regional appearances, and the school's first ever appearance in the Division 3 College World Series in 2013.
In addition to being inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, Coach Page has also been inducted into the Millsaps Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998. He has been named conference Coach of the Year eight times, and was named the 2013 South Region Coach of the Year.
