Meet the Team
Meet the Playwright - Jessie Vane
Jessie Vane is a Los Angeles based playwright and graduate of Northwestern University where she studied under Laura Schellhardt and Julie Marie Myatt. Along with Mary Land, Jessie’s plays include Still the Raven Sings, a full-length dark comedy about grief in a small town, Not on Prom Night, a one act surrealistic comedy about girls getting ready for prom, and Think and Drink, a full-length comedy about bored Long Island housewives training for Jeopardy. Jessie has been lucky enough to see her plays go up at The Victory Gardens (Chicago) and The Sherry Theater (Los Angeles). When not writing, Jessie enjoys acting, working on her podcast Ladies Who Lore, and searching for the perfect taco (recommendations accepted).
Meet the Director - Harley Kirchhoff
Harley Kirchhoff is an LA-based director of theatre and producer of television who has happily been pulled from directorial retirement by Jessie! While attending Northwestern University, she directed productions of You On The Moors Now, Constellations, and her own adaptation of Carmen Machado's short story The Husband Stitch. She additionally directed for the Agnes Nixon Playwriting Festival and Vertigo's Ten-Minute Play Festival. New work is her very favorite thing and she feels incredibly lucky to have been invited into this process.
Meet the Producer - Wyatt McNeil
Wyatt McNeil is a Los Angeles based producer with a lifelong passion for live entertainment. By day he manages Fever’s Candlelight Concert Series for Southern California and Colorado. Outside of this, he has long been devoted to producing independent theatre. Productions he has worked on include In the Next Room (or the vibrator play) and Almost, Maine in his hometown of Salt Lake City, Brilliant Traces in Sarasota, and The Last Five Years in Los Angeles. Mary Land marks the first original work he has produced, and he is thrilled to help bring it to life. Wyatt holds an MFA from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory and, more importantly, is always happy to discuss the finer points of a perfect hamburger.
Meet the Props Designer - Lucy Schmidt
Lucy Schmidt is an actor known for figuring out how to put things together. Two years ago she flew too close to the sun and she is now a props master. Mary Land is Schmidt’s first theater work as props. She’s used to the wrestling arena. Shout out to the incredible Jessie and Harley. Thank you to her friends, family, and the espresso machine in her apartment. Enjoy Mary Land.
