Montgomery County Suicide Prevention Task Force

Founded in 2015, the mission of the SPTF is to decrease suicides in Montgomery County by increasing suicide prevention awareness, education, training, outreach efforts, and reducing stigma. Through collaborative efforts with community agencies, service providers, and passionate advocates, the SPTF:

  • Coordinates suicide prevention trainings and events like QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
  • Collaborates with individual school districts, colleges, and the community to promote suicide awareness and prevention
  • Connects the community with local and national resources
  • Supports families and individuals from all backgrounds
