Digitalization, artificial Intelligence, salivary diagnostics, real time navigation systems, precision therapeutics, and functional oral healthcare can assist in navigating the labyrinth of Oral Systemic Health. Data mining and intelligent algorithms can be used to improve efficiency and accuracy.  This data can be utilized to test associations, links and correlation between oral and systemic health. 

Early identification and intervention can lead to improved outcomes, reduced cost, enhanced health and overall wellness.  As oral healthcare providers we have an opportunity to participate and create transformative change within the healthcare ecosystem.

About the Speaker:

Dr. L. Eric Pulver received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1989. Dr. Pulver graduated with a Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Northwestern University in Chicago in 1995. He served as an assistant professor at Northwestern University Dental School prior to becoming the Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals from 1999-2006.  He is the founder of Pulver Oral Surgery a full scope technology forward private practice at the forefront of Oral Healthcare. He is currently is an adjunct instructor at Indiana University Dental school.  He was awarded an honorary Alumni membership to Indiana University Dental School for his contributions to educating the graduating class over the past 15 plus years.

He previously served as the team Maxillofacial Surgeon for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League from 1999 – 2006. He is a member of the American board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentist of Canada and was awarded a fellowship in the American College of Dentists.  

He has lectured and presented nationally and internationally on innovation and technology with specific interest in Artificial Intelligence, Salivary biomarkers, Bone adhesives, Oral Systemic Health. Causal aging clocks, Virtual Health/Dentistry, Digital work flow, 3D printing and immediate full mouth surgical reconstruction.  He is focused on changing the narrative of oral healthcare providers moving towards functional health and wellness.  

He is the Chief Dental Officer of Denti.AI, a cloud based Artificial Intelligence clinical support decision tool providing standardization and calibration for oral healthcare providers.  He is a working member on the American Dental Association Standards Committee for creating a white paper on AI and selected as co-chair for the subsection on the future benefits, workflow.  He has served as a Mentor for Incubators/Accelerators Matter Health, mHub, Smile Health (carequest) and Advisor for many startups working to help shape the future of Oral Healthcare.  He has supported the Glo Good Foundation team supporting oral healthcare needs of the people of Eleuthera, Bahamas.  

Dr Pulver’s interests are diverse.  He graduated from Second City Comedy Chicago where he completed Improv levels A – F and Stand up in 2016-17.  He brings a unique perspective ranging from academics, business, entrepreneurship and creativity.  He is an avid skier, intermittent faster, bio-hacker, health span enthusiast, cyclist and  enjoys time with  family, friends and travel.
