Event Information

You’re invited to join this one-of-a-kind, month long celebration as countless homes, businesses, and neighborhoods collectively show their pride using an array of lively decorations, signs, and art.

There’s nothing quite like Pride month in the nation’s capital! This year, the Capital Pride Alliance is excited to present for the first time, Paint the Town Colorful with Pride! Your participation will help promote joy, visibility, and PRIDE within your local community, while simultaneously raising awareness and resources for the GivePride365 Fund, benefiting local LGBTQ+ charities.

Whether you’re a resident, business, or organization, we invite YOU to decorate your most public-facing spaces, such as building fronts, patios, balconies, and yards, to show your Pride! Make it as colorful as you can! We encourage you to have your decorated creations displayed by June 1st to mark the beginning of Pride month. Decorations must be completed by June 12th, the day of the Colorful Pridemobile Parade, a lively city-wide procession of colorful vehicles decorated by registered organizations and businesses. The Colorful Pridemobile Parade will visit areas in the city with the highest levels of participation in Paint the Town Colorful with Pride. Therefore, YOU may have the unique opportunity to bring the festivities to your front door! Don’t forget to share photos and videos of your creations on social media by tagging @CapitalPrideDC and using the hashtag #ColorfulDMV.

Self-Guided Tours

During the month of June, we also invite you to enjoy a self-guided tour of other participating Paint the Town Colorful with Pride installations. Each registered entry will be featured on our interactive Paint the Town Colorful map, so that you can explore other creations in your specific neighborhood, ward, or throughout the entire region! Participating locations will feature a QR code, making it easy to support the GivePride365 Fund. Donations can be made in any amount, and the more times you donate, the more chances you’ll have to win exciting prizes!
