2025 MAP Awards
At Paving the Way, we will celebrate the winners of our 2025 MAP Awards, honoring the contributions of exceptional Trailnet Members, Advocates, and Partners.
Outstanding Trailnet Member
This award honors an outstanding Trailnet Member who has demonstrated a commitment to fighting for Streets for All. This individual or family has invested significant resources — money, time, or energy — into advancing Trailnet’s mission. They inspire others to join the fight.

					Sarah Hanly
For more than a decade, Sarah Hanly has worked to make St. Louis a safer, more connected place for people who walk, bike, and roll. Along with her husband, Alex Babich, she has invested in Trailnet since 2011 and joined our Peloton Society in 2017.
A former bike commuter for 10 years, Sarah turned personal experience into purpose after surviving a crash caused by a driver. She has since shared her story to advocate for policies that protect vulnerable road users, including testifying before lawmakers and appearing alongside Cindy Mense, Trailnet’s CEO, on St. Louis on the Air in 2025 to discuss Trailnet’s annual Crash Report.
Sarah has served on the U City Bike and Walk Task Force, and currently serves on the city’s Traffic Commission, and the St. Louis County Complete Streets Advisory Committee. She consistently uses her voice, expertise, and compassion to champion safer streets for all.
Streets for All Advocate
This award honors an individual, family or organization that has fought for policies that make our region better for people walking, biking or using public transportation. The honoree has advanced specific advocacy campaigns that have resulted in safer streets for all users. They are exemplary advocates.

					Matt Wyczalkowski
Matt Wyczalkowski has been a steadfast voice for safer streets in St. Louis for many years. In 2014, he sparked the conversation about safety on Tower Grove Avenue and founded the SafeTGA initiative, rallying neighbors and drawing attention to dangerous conditions for people who bike and walk. His advocacy helped inspire Trailnet’s inclusion of the corridor in the Connecting St. Louis plan, and this year, the long-awaited Tower Grove Connector broke ground.
As a co-founder and board member of The BALSA Foundation, Matt also supports equity and opportunity for first-time entrepreneurs — work recognized by a 2024 Focus St. Louis “What’s Right with the Region” Award.
A daily bike commuter and member of the Coalition to Protect Cyclists and Pedestrians, Matt leads by example, using both data and determination to push for infrastructure that protects everyone on the road.
Streets for All Partner
This award honors an individual, family or organization that has worked hand-in-hand with Trailnet and other community members to fight for Streets for All. The honoree has contributed essential knowledge, skills, time and resources to a project that spurred progress in the region. They are passionate, multi-dimensional allies who share our vision.

					Cornerstone CDC and WeCollab
Cornerstone CDC, in partnership with WeCollab, represents a community-led approach to planning and neighborhood transformation. Through Cornerstone’s collaboration with Trailnet and extensive community input, they have helped design and implement safe street projects within the Resident-Led Reinvestment Plan for the West End and Visitation Park neighborhoods, always centering the voices and needs of residents.
In August 2025, Trailnet, Cornerstone CDC, and WeCollab worked together on a pop-up demonstration showcasing safer street designs and co-authored several grants to support lasting improvements. These efforts continue to advance the community’s vision for safer, more connected streets that promote health, safety, and opportunity for all.
Trailnet is proud to recognize the WeCollab Resident-Led Reinvestment Plan and Cornerstone CDC as our 2025 Outstanding Streets for All Partners, honoring their ongoing commitment to making the West End and Visitation Park stronger, safer, and more vibrant places to live.
