Each year, H&S Family of Bakeries, in partnership with Johns Hopkins Children's Center, hosts a special golf tournament to raise critical funds for pediatric food allergy research.
On Friday, May 12th, we will host the 13th annual Pediatric Food Allergy Golf Classic bringing together both local and national sponsors, all of whom come together each year to support the pediatric food allergy research program at Johns Hopkins Children's Center led by Dr. Robert Wood. 1 in 18 children in the United States experience a life threatening food allergy. The majority of patients that find themselves receiving treatment at Johns Hopkins Children's Center have some of the most severe food allergies that prevent them from participating in everyday childhood activities such as birthday parties or extra curricular activities while always remaining hyper vigilant about their surroundings to prevent an attack.
Funds from this golf tournament provide our pediatric food allergy research team with the ability to purchase the supplies, equipment, and medications needed to enroll patients in studies that help desensitize children to their extreme food allergies.
The Pediatric Food Allergy Golf Classic includes a great round of golf, amazing raffle prizes including Apple products, designer purses, luxury experiences and more. But most of all it is a day to come together and celebrate the advances being made at Johns Hopkins Children's Center in pediatric food allergy research and thank the amazing golfers, sponsors, and supporters who make this work possible.
