To kick off Cookbooks and Convos presented by OpenTable, we invite you to join us for the Bakery Run, a 5K/10K supporting local women-owned bakeries in Philadelphia! Your registration includes a sample baked good at each stop, a hat from Lululemon, a souvenir runner bib, and access to the after party at the Bok Building. First 100 runners also get a Lululemon shirt so sign up early! Upgrade your registration for a copy of In The Mood to Bake and take the recipes home with you!
The 10K run starts at Dreamworld Bakes in Fishtown at 8am and ends at the Bok Building for the after party until noon! You'll visit 7 bakeries including DreamWorld Bakes, Fiore, Cake Life, The Bread Room, Loretta's, Machine Shop, and Second Daughter, in addition to our after party partners. Not ready to commit to the full distance? We're also offering a 5K that begins at The Bread Room at 9am. You'll visit 4 bakeries including The Bread Room, Loretta's, Machine Shop, and Second Daughter, in addition to our after party partners. See the 5K course map here.

Want to skip the run and just enjoy the treats? Kick off the 2026 Cookbooks & Convos season at the finish line with an after party that goes full Y2K nostalgia at the Bok Building's West Gym. We will serve early-2000s cookie party vibes inspired by Alex George's In the Mood to Bake. The after party will feature interpretations from four local bakeries and Alex George herself will be there signing books. Come for the cookies, stay for the good times. This event continues the Bakery Run's mission of celebrating and supporting women-owned bakeries across Philadelphia.
