About the Poker Ride

 

  Ride through beautiful River Rise Preserve State Park collecting a poker hand or two along the way. Cash prizes for Top 3 Hands, Oldest Rider, Youngest Rider and Oldest Horse ridden! Save $5 on your first Poker Hand by pre-registering online by Wednesday, October 7th at midnight, or by mail postmarked by 10/2/2026.

  Items donated by local businesses will be awarded as drawing prizes. Tickets for the drawings will be available on ride day only for a suggested donation of $1 each.* Smokin' Fatties Food Truck will be serving light breakfast and lunch for purchase.

  Make a Camping Reservation on this site for one day or all weekend (ONLY available with purchase of Poker Hand and selection of Camping Ticket option††). Campsites will be assigned at the discretion of Ride Management.

  Sunday, October 11th is scheduled as a "Rain Date" in case of bad weather.

All fundraising proceeds go to the support of River Rise Preserve and O’Leno State Parks.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Friends of O'Leno & River Rise is required by the FL Division of Recreation & Parks to keep a copy of the current negative Coggins certificate on file for each horse entering River Rise Preserve State Park during this event. Please consider emailing certificates ahead of time to pokerride@friendsofoleno.org, and help us speed up the check-in process.

Under Florida law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.     Florida Statutes §773.01

Florida law requires participants under the age of 16 years to wear a helmet while engaging in equestrian activities on public lands.
