There will be on-site registration beginning at 2:30PM. However, in 2025 we sold out the morning of the event so we recommend registering ahead!

Yes, scooters are welcome! In fact, we have had roller skaters, walkers, strollers, wagons, and parents pulling children in bike carriers!

No, only children under 12 need to register. Older children and parents who are watching the event are welcome to enjoy the music and festivities. 

Yes! We encourage decorations, it makes the event more festive!

Yes, all children must be accompanied by an adult. 

There are a number of ways that fans of the trail can volunteer to help with maintenance, public relations, and a variety of other ways. If you are interested in volunteering, contact us at info@lhtrail.org.

The ride is flat and easy to manage with stopping and starting between treat stations. The route for children six and older is about a mile while the under-six route is about a quarter mile. There will be tricycles and training wheels. 

Funds raised from Trail and Treat will be used to offset the costs of the event. The fee does not fully cover the expenses incurred for the event.

The LHT is definitely a free amenity open to everyone. However, Trail and Treat is a special event. The fee of $12 per child helps with the direct costs of the event. Remember that the LHT is designed, built, and managed by the Lawrence Hopewell Trail Corporation, a nonprofit organization. Most of the work associated with creating and maintaining the trail has been, and continues to be, done by volunteers who raise the funds to make the trail a reality.  

Enter the park from the Yeger Drive entrance. Trail and Treat will be held near the pavilion.

There will be lots of photos.  A photographer will be on hand.  Select photos will be posted on the LHT’s website at https://lhtrail.org/trailandtreat/ a few days after the event. Participants are encouraged to take photos and share them with us by sending them to info@lhtrail.org.  

Halloween costumes are not required. What is most important is that children come and have a great time. 

There will not be a competition for best costume. The kids are so adorable whether they wear costumes or not. It would be too hard to judge!

There is a large parking area near the pavilion at the Yeger Street entrance.

Unfortunately, there is not a rain date. Check our website, https://lhtrail.org/trailandtreat/ beginning at noon on October 25 for the decision about cancellation in the event of bad weather.   

The entire route is within Village Park. It is flat and paved. No vehicle traffic is allowed in the park.  The route will be supervised by adult volunteers. For children under six, the route is a half mile; for those over six, a mile.

There will be cake pops, candy, and other goodies. While we try to avoid products with nuts, we cannot guarantee that the goodies are nut or gluten free. Additional treats will be fun Halloween items like colored pencils, rubber skeletons, and pirate coins.

Refreshments will not be available. Please bring water or other snacks as you see fit.
