PIO/Secretary for Toledo Buffalo Soldiers MC a community service motorcycle club which mentors children and teaches the history of the original Buffalo Soldier Army troops.
Active in veteran's charities and Bike MS for over 15 years.

Bruce Gardner
Known throughout his barbershop organization as “The Pit Master,” Bruce brings the same passion and precision to barbecue that he does to barbershop harmony. His love for cooking began in the kitchen with his mother, who introduced him to herbs, seasonings, and homemade flavor. His barbecue journey truly took shape in Tennessee, where his best friend and neighbor, Steve, introduced him to the art of smoking meat and helped him develop the skills that earned him his nickname.
When he’s not tending the smoker, he can be found singing with the Voices of Harmony. Combining his two greatest passions—BBQ and barbershop—he enjoys bringing people together through great food, friendship, and four-part harmony.
Fostoria Lake Plains Chorus
About Us: The Fostoria Lake Plains Chorus began in 1962, headed by Dick Lee, Larry Strahm, Glenn Quisinberry, and other men who loved to harmonize. The original music director was Howard Reddick. He was followed by Fred Schmidt, who led the chorus from 1967 to 2017. Since then, we have been led by Benji Cates, Mark Statler, and our current director, Kerry Conrad. Some early chapter quartets included the The Four Winds, the Elks Club Four, the Seneca Lads, and the Bar-B-Que 4.
Our first shows were held in the old Fostoria High School auditorium, but we quickly made the “new” Performing Arts Center our home when it opened.
Our chapter has performed all over this part of Ohio, at every county fair in our territory, local celebrations, concerts in the park, church services, funerals, virtually anywhere you can fit a group of guys and gals and a pitchpipe.
This chapter has been around for a long time, and now also welcomes all voices. We will continue to bring you the best “G-rated” entertainment in the barbershop style! We welcome everyone in harmony.
Frogtown Four
About Us: In September 2024, four guys were at a local shindig called Brats, Beer, and Corn, hosted by international quartet champion, Jim Shisler! After eating their fill, these four men started tagging together, enjoying the lock and ring that came from their four voices. At the end of the evening, one of the guys said, “We should get together and sing for the fun of it!” And that was the beginning of The Frogtown Four.
Mark Blake, Jacob Blake, Dave Granata, and Rich Granata have been getting together to enjoy singing together for the fun of it since then. They’ve done a little public singing at the Voices of Harmony BarberQ, the various shows at Barbershopper Weekend on Middle Bass Island, and on the afterglow of the Defiance Northwesternaires annual show.
They’ve bought matching shirts so it looks like they’ll be singing together for a while. Who knows what’s next for these four Toledo area singers?!

River Raisin Chorus
About Us: Founded in 1977, the River Raisin Chorus of Monroe, Mich. is an award-winning chapter of Sweet Adelines International. We sing exciting a cappella, four-part harmony music, barbershop style. We love to get out and sing for our community and especially enjoy performing for local military veterans' events! We sing at our annual show, a number of community events, and at annual regional competitions.

Lynne Peirce-Kemp of Ann Arbor has been the River Raisin Chorus’s director since 2024.
A Sweet Adeline since 1985 and front line director since 1999, Lynne is a certified musical director in both the Sweet Adelines (2005) and men’s Barbershop Harmony Society (2002). She previously served as director of the Battle Creek Chorus and Voices in Harmony, Ypsilanti. She currently serves as education coordinator for Sweet Adelines International’s Great Lakes Harmony Region 17.
A popular chorus and quartet coach, she sang bass in the 1991 and 1993 SAI Region 2 quartet champion "Accolade" and the 2015 Region 17 quartet champion "Surefire". She currently sings bass in the SAI quartet "Dynamics", baritone in the BHS quartet "Upbeat", and baritone in the BHS quintet "Take 5". She is also a member of the Huron Valley Harmonizers chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

About Us: Dynamics has been performing together for four years, with our current Bass joining us one year ago. Our members represent three different choruses: Pride of Toledo, River Raisin, and the BHS chorus Huron Valley Harmonizers. Lynne also sings in the BHS mixed quartet Upbeat and small group Take 5.
The Alliance
About Us: The Alliance is part of the Greater Central Ohio Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We are an all-voices chorus dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all those who love to sing, regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation or musical background. The Alliance is the first and only all-voices barbershop chorus in Central Ohio.

About Us: Crosstown consists of Paul Russell - Tenor, Tim Cogley - Lead, Marty Hibbard - Bari, and Michael Gilmore - Bass. They are the 2024 JAD Senior Quartet champs.
Note To Self
About Us: Note to Self is a lively all-female barbershop quartet made up of Betsy, Cindy, Richele, and Gabby. With a shared love for singing, laughing, and tacos, they bring harmony to every stage. Having earned as high as third place at Sweet Adelines Region 17, they’re proving that great music (and great tacos) go hand in hand!
North Coast Tempo
About Us: North Coast Tempo is a startup mixed chorus that sprang from the Mixatones quartet in 2022. We are based in Danbury Township, and perform locally in the Port Clinton, Marblehead Peninsula, Catawba Island, area. We've also been branching out to perform at festivals and events further away such as Sandusky, Elmore, and Lindsey. We love to sing and to share the craft with those new to barbershop. We often perform for service organizations as our way of giving back to the community. We have our own rehearsal space where we sing once a week as a chorus, and there may be one or more of our 5 mix-and-match quartets there on any given day.
Our membership includes choir singers who became interested in learning the barbershop style, as well as seasoned barbershoppers in the area who wanted a place to sing close to home. We welcome new singers of any experience level to enjoy harmonizing with us and learn songs that are sometimes newer and different, can be challenging, and are always fun!

North Coast Tempo Quartets
Mixatones quartet currently has two variations, with Jim, Jeff, and Rich being original Bass, Bari, and Lead from its start in 2016. Tenor is sung by either Mary or Anne.
PB&J quartet happened when Jason found time to step in as another Tenor, and we formed our first non-mixed quartet!
TBD (To Be Determined) is our 2+2 mixed quartet, with Jim, Rich, Mary, and Anne. Our goals are to 1) swap parts as much as possible, and 2) decide on a real quartet name (eventually)
Red Haven Peaches quartet is our newest project, with Mary, Anne, Sydney, and Renee. We look forward to hearing beautiful harmonies from them soon.
Used Chord Salesmen
About Us: Used Chord Salesmen...quite an unusual name for a quartet. Then again, this group is devoted to acapella singing in the barbershop style and selling those beautiful chords to people and groups all over the state of Ohio. Their repertoire is a combination of “the old songs” and some newer, more familiar songs. All with wonderful 4-part harmonies.
Formed in March 2023, each member travels up to 2 hours to a rehearsal meeting in Avon Lake, halfway between all four (Thanks go Jane & Stu Sheard). But distance does not deter their love of close harmony and their friendship. They work to sell songs and stories, both old and new to their audiences. They are the Used Chord Salesmen.
Pride of Toledo
About Us: PRIDE OF TOLEDO is a women’s barbershop chorus bringing together singers from northwest Ohio, southern Michigan, and northeastern Indiana to create beautiful music and lasting friendships. Directed by Dawn Seigneur, the chorus performs a wide variety of music rooted in the barbershop style.
Pride of Toledo recently earned 1st Place Small Chorus and 3rd Place Overall at their regional competition this spring and will travel to Seattle in the fall of 2027 to compete in the Harmony Classic division at the SingUnited International competition.
'TMS
About Us: TMS has been leaving audiences in a state of awe for over 10 years now. Well at least their mouths are open and eyes wide with wonder and we have only had few complaints. We enjoy sharing our brand with new audiences and old friends as well. Tom, Brian, Nate, and Chad enjoy sharing our gifts at a variety of events and venues, so sit back and enjoy!
Average Volume
About Us: Average Volume is a Johnny Appleseed District Competitive Quartet made up of all BGSU Men’s Chorus alumni! Jake (Lead), Kerry (Bass), Kyle (Bari) & Tyler (Tenor) were all members of the Men’s Chorus at one time (or another). Going into our 3rd year of singing together, Average Volume is anything but average, especially in the volume department.
So far, this very boisterous quartet has taken home the 2024 JAD Novice Quartet Trophy, 2024 JAD 3rd Place Men’s Quartet, and in 2025 reached the 2025 JAD Quartet Finals! With much (or not so much) practice, this quartet continues to improve with time and has a blast singing both goofy and serious songs in the barbershop style.
AV is proud to represent the Fostoria Chapter - Lake Plains Chorus & The Northwest Ohio Chapter - Voices of Harmony as our home chapters.
This talented group of guys always enjoys singing on the Lake Plains Chorus annual show, and we hope you’ll see us with both chapters throughout the summer too!
