Join us for Mardi Paws, a pet-friendly twist on the classic Mardi Gras celebration.

Mardi Paws is all about festive fun, community spirit, and celebrating our four-legged friends with a parade, activities, and post-parade paw-ty.

We have partnered with local organization A New Leash on Life as our charity partner for this event. All proceeds raised from this event will go directly to them. This organization has a lofty, but achievable goal of saving all of Alabama’s homeless animals…by reducing the number of pets killed in shelters and by reducing the number of homeless pets on the streets in Alabama’s communities.  

All of them deserve our help! 🐾🫶🏼✨

The humans of A New Leash on Life have worked diligently to create a no-kill community, helping Huntsville achieve a live release rate over 90%, compared to less than 50% in previous years.

Event Details:
Parade Time: 2:00 PM
Parade Route: Old Cove Fountain - Down Summerlyn - Right on McMullen to the Clubhouse
Celebration: Immediately following at the Clubhouse

The celebration will continue with:
-Face painting
-Music
-Painting for dogs (mess-free, we promise)!
-Coffee and refreshments
-And more festive fun!

Cost:
$25 per family covers your household, even if you have more than one animal participating. Want to decorate a cart and participate but don't have a fur friend attendee? That's okay too! Decorative carts and walkers encouraged! All proceeds from this event will benefit our local New Leash on Life animal shelter. 

All participants must comply with Huntsville City regulations and pet ordinances.

Pets are required to remain leashed at all times, and owners are fully responsible for maintaining control and securing their pets throughout the event.
