Valor Lacrosse Club - Powered by Shootout for Soldiers

Our Mission

Valor Lacrosse Club uses the “Medicine Game” to bring together veterans in a supportive community that nurtures connection, camaraderie, and personal growth, empowering warfighters to heal, share experiences, and forge lasting bonds.

What Valor LC is doing

Valor Lacrosse Club is building a community by engaging local veterans through regular pick-up games and meetups that highlight the healing power of the medicine game. Centered around box-style lacrosse, the club offers clinics, tournaments, leagues, and youth programs—while embracing all formats, including field, sixes, coed, adaptive, street, hybrid, and unified play.

All skill levels are welcome. Whether you’ve never picked up a stick before, or you have been playing your entire life, Valor Lacrosse Club has a place for you.

A key initiative is integrating with Shootout for Soldiers to bring an event to Pittsburgh, with a strong focus on youth and school participation. Valor also aims to form or join a local league with a team of veterans and first responders, travel for exhibitions, and connect with veteran players nationwide to grow the game and support the veteran community.

“Make sure the guys understand that lacrosse is a medicine game—that truth should never leave their sight. Lacrosse was given to us by the Creator, first and foremost, for His enjoyment. We play for those who can’t. We play to help others heal, especially when they can no longer step on the field themselves.

In times of sickness, our people would play the game and ask the Creator to heal whatever was causing the illness—as we played for His joy. When approached with the proper mindset, this game can support emotional and mental healing.

We hear many players say that even when they’re dealing with a lot, the moment they pick up a stick, the weight lifts.

We play for those who came before us. We play for those who cannot play right now. And we play for those who have yet to play.”
