We’re excited to bring the Every Woman’s Marathon to Scottsdale this fall! This page is designed to keep neighbors, businesses, and community members informed.

Every Woman’s Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, bringing more than 6,000 runners (90% from out of state) to Scottsdale. To showcase our city’s beauty while minimizing traffic disruptions, much of the course will utilize most of the Scottsdale Greenbelt. Runners will cross several intersections in north Scottsdale as they follow the Greenbelt. Traffic will be controlled at crossing points. However, the route departs from the Greenbelt at McDowell.

Road Closures & Traffic Impacts

• McDowell Road

  • From 77th St. through 64th St. / Galvin Parkway

  • Restricted 6:00 AM – 2:45 PM

  • Traffic will not be able to cross McDowell (north/south).

  • Detour: Use Hayden Rd. or Loop 101 for north/south travel.

• 64^th St

  • Restricted 6:00 AM – 2:45 PM

  • Open northbound from McDowell to Indian School

  • Westbound traffic allowed at Oak (Police will cross cars in runner gaps)

  • No westbound traffic allowed at Thomas Rd

  • Only eastbound traffic allowed at Indian School

  • Detour: Use Hayden Rd. or Loop 101 or Indian School to Goldwater

• Thomas St

  • Closed at 64th St. from 6:00 AM - 2:45 PM

• Old Town Scottsdale

  • Closed from Indian School to 1^st St and Goldwater to Brown Ave.

  • Closed 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Detour: Use Goldwater Blvd.

• To Reach the Airport

  • 6:00 AM – 2:45 PM

  • Detours:

    • 202 freeway to airport exit

    • Hayden to 202

    • Camelback to 44^th St

• To Reach the Phoenix Zoo and Botanical Gardens

  • 6:00 AM – 2:45 PM

  • Detours:

    • 202 freeway to Priest Exit, travel north. Priest becoming Galvin Parkway

    • Use Van Buren east to Galvin Parkway

    • Camelback to 44^th St
