Important Announcement*
The first half 2024 presented unprecedented challenges for our industry, and we have seen the introduction of many pieces of legislation that could end telemarketing as we know it. As ominous as these bills seem, the second half of 2024 has begun to overshadow these proposals with a certain political uncertainty as never seen before. We have witnessed an attack against one major party candidate, and, within a week, we saw the opposing candidate stepped out of the race. In light of these events, we believe that the political focus in our nation’s capital will shift towards rallying around their candidate with a sole focus of winning an election. This may favor our industry, as we are hopeful this will push bills such as the Do Not Disturb Act to the back burner.
While no one can predict the outcome of the upcoming election, we do know for certain that there will be a new administration in 2025. With 33 Senate seats and all 435 House seats also up for grabs in this year’s election, the legislative landscape could be drastically different just six months from now. We can also be fairly certain that lawmakers will continue to focus on removing bad actors from the telemarketing industry, and legislation will continue to be introduced that, if not properly drafted, can harm good, compliant-minded actors far more than bad. For that reason, we believe it is best to reschedule our DC summit for the spring. This will better position us to understand the goals and objectives of the elected officials, allowing our industry to better strategize advocacy efforts and positions to be taken based on legislation introduced at that time.
We still plan to hold our annual Florida Compliance Summit, so please watch for more information on that soon!
About the Event
Our 2024 Advocacy on The Hill - (ARC)Advocacy & Regulation in Consumer Marketing, will kick off with a Welcome Reception, on September 9th at the MGM Resort, National Harbor.
The call center industry faces an unprecedented crisis with new regulations threatening to shutter businesses if urgent action isn't taken. If these bills pass unchecked, the consequences will be dire for businesses and consumers. The dissolution of PACE (formerly the ATA) has left a critical gap in industry advocacy. This gap between the industry leaders and lawmakers has cost us our voice - when we need it the most.
Join us from September 9th to 12th, 2024, for a multi-day event packed with essential content from our diverse panel of legal minds, industry experts, and advocacy leaders.
Network with our speakers and fellow compliance and privacy professionals and take an active role in shaping the future of our industry through direct advocacy on Capitol Hill. Together, we will shape the future of our industry and ensure that our voices are heard.
A Word from our CEO, Ron Allen: 'The DNC Team strongly believes in advocacy for the industry. Currently, over 100 bills have been proposed that would have a devastating impact on our industry. It is vital to the industry and its future, that your elected officials hear your voice.
On September 9th - 12th, DNC will host an advocacy event in Washington DC where we will study each bill of concern and discuss these matters directly with relevant elected officials.
Please mark your calendar, this will be the most important event you will attend all year.'
