Description:
Caring for someone loved with a serious illness such as Parkinson’s Disease, long COVID, or Alzheimer’s Disease is taxing on the psychosocial-spiritual health of family caregivers. This interactive, case-based session discusses three categories of coping in connection with well-being advancing strategies that foster a strengthening in their comprehensibility, meaningfulness, and manageability of life. The session describes practical methods and best practices in enhancing family caregivers’ well-being across therapeutic processes utilizing caregiver-centered approaches.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the serious illness family caregiver experience and psychosocial-spiritual effect on their well-being in relation to assessment and treatment.
2. Discuss family caregivers’ sense of coherence in connection with three categories of coping and the well-being advancing strategies.
3. Analyze case studies utilizing caregiver-centered assessment and treatment methods and best practices across therapeutic processes.
4. Construct a psychosocial-spiritual health advancing treatment plan integrating the strategies and practical methods utilizing a case study.
