What is ScareGrounds PDX?
ScareGrounds PDX (or, the Oaks Park ScareGrounds) is the Northwest’s largest haunted house and Halloween event held annually at the historic Oaks Amusement Park in Portland, Oregon. ScareGrounds PDX features three haunted houses, thrill rides, all-ages attractions, concessions, 21+ beverages, walkaround characters, and more! ScareGrounds PDX is a no contact haunted attraction.

How does timed ticketing work?
When you purchase your tickets you will buy them for an hour block (ex. 9-10pm). You can use your tickets for the three haunted houses during your hour block. If you end up not getting to all the houses before the end of your hour, you can still finish going through the houses prior to the park closing. The purpose of the time blocks is to reduce long lines and ensure everyone can have a great experience.
Oaks Park ride wristbands are good for all ride operating hours! Check the calendar for times the rides are open each night. You will stop by the Oaks Park ticketing booth to pick up your ride bracelet if you purchase one or if you purchase an All Access pass that includes a ride bracelet.
Do I need to print my tickets?
Your phone is your ticket. We can scan the QR code directly from your phone at the entry of the Haunted Houses. You will need to show your QR code ticket at each Haunted House to be verified. If you are bringing your family and not entering the Haunted Houses with them, you can print the tickets and provide each person with their individual ticket.
You DO however need to stop by the Oaks Park ticketing booth to pick up your ride bracelet if you purchase one or if you purchase an All Access pass that includes a ride bracelet.
Can I buy Tickets with cash at the event?
The ScareGrounds will have an onsite ticket booth for guests who need to make a cash purchase to attend the ScareGrounds. Tickets are cheaper when purchased in advance online.
How long does it take to experience the event?
We recommend guests make a full night of it and experience ALL the Attractions and rides the park has to offer. However, for guests who only go through the main three haunted house attractions, be prepared to stay at the event for at least an hour; if not longer depending on queue lines and the attractions you wish to visit. While all groups travel at different paces, all three of our haunted houses take approximately ten minutes each to complete and there are a variety of other attractions and things to do around the grounds. We have a HARD CLOSE at our listed closing times. Guests should try to show up at least an hour prior to closing to ensure that they have ample time to experience as much as possible at the ScareGrounds this year!
If you prefer shorter wait times, consider visiting at less popular dates/times such as our opening weekend or Sundays.
Are the Haunted Attractions Wheelchair Accessible?
While we design our attractions to be wheelchair accessible, some of the pathways are on non-paved areas and may be difficult to navigate with rainy weather and guest traffic. If you need assistance or have any questions we encourage you to reach out to help@vendettaproductions.com.
We recommend push chairs while attending the ScareGrounds.
Is there and age restriction to attend?
We do not have an age restriction to attend ScareGroundsPDX. Children under 13 may attend if they are accompanied by an adult. The main attractions are not recommended for children under 13. However, we have many side attractions that are appropriate for all ages!
Children going inside the haunted houses and side show attractions may not be carried, and adhere to all the ScareGrounds policies while inside the attractions. There are emergency exits throughout each attraction should the experience end up being too scary. Please keep in mind, there are no refunds at ScareGroundsPDX and we will not be able to refund tickets for individuals or youngsters who leave the attractions early.
Does ScareGroundsPDX still offer a 'less scary' haunt experience?
To reduce confusion and maintain the crafted experience inside the haunted attractions, we no longer offer the option for a less scary haunt experience (previously via glow sticks).
There are emergency exits throughout each attraction should the experience end up being too scary. Please keep in mind, there are no refunds at ScareGrounds PDX and we will not be able to refund tickets for individuals who exit the attractions early.
Are there strobe lights, fog, loud noises, jump scares, etc.?
Yes. Theatrical fog, and lighting effects including strobe lighting are in use on this property, if you have health problems that could be affected by strobe lighting or artificial fog you should not enter. Loud noises, jump scares, and environments that leverage phobias (darkness, small spaces, clowns, and more) are a part of the show and may not be suitable for all. Use good judgement and enter at your own risk.
What happens if it rains?
The show must go on and we will remain open regardless of rain, snow, or other weather conditions. While parts of the attractions are under cover, it is an outdoor event and much of the park is open to the elements. Consult the forecast before purchasing tickets if attending during adverse weather is a concern. There will be no refunds due to weather conditions.
What is Social Sharing?
ScareGroundsPDX will reward you when tickets are purchased from the Social Sharing link we provided at the time of your purchase. Earn $10 back when 5 tickets are purchased after clicking on your shared link. For each additional 5 tickets, you will earn an additional $5 until you have earned back the original cost of your ScareGrounds PDX admission ticket! Rewards are only for Haunt Admission and do not include any Add-On items or fees.
Can my tickets be changed for a different date and time?
Pre-Sale tickets can be changed to a different date and time. Ticket transfers are available up to 24 hours before your original ticket date. You can change your tickets to another date and time by opening your confirmation email and selecting the Manage Tickets tab. You can change your tickets to any available date and time slot that is not already sold out. If there is a price difference from the original ticket price and the price to the new date and time you are selecting you will be charged the remaining balance.
Are dogs allowed at ScareGrounds PDX?
We at ScareGrounds PDX all love our furry friends, but due to the larger crowds and noise levels at our event we recommend your dogs stay home while you come out to enjoy the Halloween fun. Service animals are permitted in the general areas but must be leashed at all times. Service animals will not be permitted to enter the haunted attractions; this is for their safety. ScareGrounds PDX crew members are not permitted to take control of a service animal, however we can offer a group split option so your service animal can wait at the exit for you with someone in your party and they will be given a immediate entry through our VIP line after.
